Airbus to Upgrade, Expand German Energy Firm’s TETRA Network
Wednesday, January 09, 2019 | Comments

Airbus will modernize and expand seNet, the secure TETRA system of energy supplier STEAG. Airbus will replace the central technology of the communications system with Taira TETRA servers.

This core of the professional mobile radio (PMR) network increases the capacity of the system and increases reliability and efficiency. In addition, Airbus will service the mobile communications network and offer maintenance under a five-year contract. Previous base stations will be replaced with new, high-performance technology, and the entire network will also be expanded in line with STEAG's requirements.

STEAG operates its seNet system in Germany’s Ruhr area and makes its secure communications services available to other organizations such as industrial companies, public administrations, firefighters and rescue services.
