BearCom Group continued its acquisition spree, buying two Texas mobile radio communications companies, S&P Communications (S&P), with locations in San Antonio and Round Rock, and A&B Communications (A&B), located in Corpus Christi.

Terms of the transactions were not announced.

Both companies are Motorola Solutions channel partners and JVCKENWOOD-authorized dealers. In addition to selling, servicing and renting two-way radios, S&P and A&B offer digital airtime coverage using the NEXEDGE IP network from JVCKENWOOD. NEXEDGE creates wide-area networks by registering mobile and portable two-way radios to the nearest radio tower to communicate seamlessly between towers throughout a region.

S&P and A&B serve a broad range of customers in multiple sectors. Both companies design customized communications systems for public-safety agencies to ensure compliance with rigorous Project 25 (P25) standards and in-building Emergency Responder Radio Coverage (ERRC) code using bidirectional amplifiers and distributed antenna systems (DAS). Plus, S&P offers GPS management software to track and analyze fleet vehicles, which helps dispatchers coordinate routes from anywhere. “We are delighted that the highly experienced and knowledgeable professionals at S&P and A&B are joining the BearCom family,” said Mark Kroh, CEO of BearCom. “Teaming these outstanding resources with the BearCom locations already in place, allows us to offer even greater resources, services and coverage throughout our home state. We are proud to welcome the talented associates from S&P and A&B and look forward continuing the service excellence our customers have come to expect from BearCom.”
