FCC Extends Filing Deadlines Again
Thursday, January 31, 2019 | Comments

The FCC further extended the deadlines for filings that were due during the governmental shutdown. Filings that were due Jan. 3 – 7 were pushed back to Jan. 30. Filings that were due between Jan. 8 and Feb. 7 will be due for filing Feb. 8.

“While we recognize that the above schedule does not afford an extension of time equal to the length of the shutdown in all cases, we believe these extension periods are reasonable under the circumstances, including the fact that many electronic systems remained available to the public during the suspension of operations,” the FCC said in a public notice. “Commission staff will consider requests for further extensions in individual matters as appropriate.”

This extension does not apply to Network Outage Reporting System (NORS) and Disaster Information Reporting System (DIRS) filings and filings related to spectrum auction activities.

Any special temporary authority (STA) that would have expired from Jan. 3 – 29 is extended until Feb. 8. The full public notice is here.
