Fraser, Fair to Chair NPSTC Groups
Tuesday, February 19, 2019 | Comments

Barry Fraser was named the new chair of the National Public Safety Telecommunications Council (NPSTC) Broadband and Technology Committee, and Lt. Charlie Fair is the new vice chair of NPSTC’s EMS Working Group.

Fraser replaces Kim Coleman Madsen, who left the state of Colorado to work with the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) as an experience program advisor. She will serve as a FirstNet liaison to NPSTC. Fraser is the chair of the Public Safety Internet of Things (IoT) Working Group and served as the first general manager of the San Francisco Bay Area Regional Interoperable Communications Systems Authority (BayRICS) from 2012 until his retirement in 2018.

Fair has more than 28 years with Sedgwick County (Kansas) EMS, the largest paramedic service in Kansas. He helped establish FirstNet service within his agency in early 2018, becoming one of the first EMS agencies to do so.
