Artificial Intelligence Firm Announces Agreement with Indonesian National Police

An Indonesia artificial intelligence (AI) startup called Nodeflux announced a collaboration with the Indonesian National Police (POLRI) and the Department of Population and Civil Registration (DISDUKCAPIL) to implement AI technology by their authorizations under an agreement.

The technology is connected to closed-circuit TV (CCTV) cameras in Jakarta and Bandung, underpinning easier city management for smart cities. The facial recognition and deep learning will extract the large database from POLRI and DISDUKCAPIL to recognize any person and object captured from CCTV cameras with maximum accuracy.

The real-time analysis and monitoring in the platform will allow users to gather and analyze data with accurate results to resolve a variety of public-safety challenges and streamline the city management process, as well as to reduce the flow or traffic on site. The platform can interpret images, such as classifying people through facial recognition, detecting object and plate, forecasting population density and analyzing behaviors in the public domain.

The technology was used to ensure security and defense during the Asian Games 2018 and IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting 2018.
