Indonesian officials inaugurated Indonesia’s first MRT line in Jakarta last month. Hytera and partner NEC supplied the communications solution for MRT Jakarta Line 1 Phase 1, which is officially in operation.

MRT Line 1 Phase 1 connects Lebak Bulus and Bundaran HI with a total length of 15.7 kilometers and 13 stations of which seven are elevated and six are underground. The MRT line is estimated to serve 212,000 passengers per day, and the expected capacity may be maxed out to 960,000 per day.

Hytera supplied its metro communication solution to equip the TETRA project, which has full redundancy, highly customized train-born radios, an innovative dispatch and control system, as well as a flexible frequency planning method. The highly tailored solution ensures smooth communications among the train driver, station stop and control center. A reliable coverage design including ground, tunnel and building communications was also implemented.
