South Kingstown, Rhode Island, retained the services of Federal Engineering to assist in the upgrade of a new multisite UHF simulcast radio system for South Kingstown police, EMS, public works, parks and leisure services, school department, and Union and Kingston fire districts.

Lance Whaley, South Kingstown fire alarm superintendent, said South Kingstown went through a competitive procurement process to select a consultant firm in radio system consulting to assess the city’s needs, develop design plans, prepare bid specifications and provide construction oversight. Federal Engineering was selected after a thorough vetting process including checking multiple references and in person interviews.
