Burns & McDonnell is expanding broadband field area network service capabilities within its telecommunications practice with the addition of three experienced engineers with specialized knowledge in private Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks.

The company hired Bruce Albright, Don Gawf and Kevin Robison. Albright worked 14 years as an engineer for Southern LINC, a regional mission-critical LTE provider. Gawf spent 17 years at Verizon as an RF distributed antenna system (DAS) engineer. Robison also worked as an RF engineer for Verizon for more than four years.

"Bruce, Don and Kevin are important additions to our telecommunications team," said Matt Olson, telecommunications projects director with Burns & McDonnell. "They bring experience in design and system architecture for broadband wireless, RF and wireline technologies needed to implement control systems that our electrical grid requires. We are installing all kinds of sensors, controls and communications devices on the grid as we move toward two-way power flows where energy producers and consumers become even more diverse."
