oneM2M, the global standards body for the internet of things (IoT), appointed a new chair and regional vice chair of Asia for its marketing and communications committee, as it continues to expand its presence in global IoT standardization.

Nadja Rachow, communications director at the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), will take on the position of chair of the oneM2M committee. She brings 20 years of experience within prominent international groups across the automotive, energy, transport and logistics industries. This includes her most recent role prior to joining ETSI, as communications director at Deutsche Bahn in France.

Peter Kim, chief researcher at Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) in South Korea, took on the role of regional vice chair of Asia for the committee. Kim has been heavily involved since the formation of oneM2M in 2012. As the person in charge of operating and organizing oneM2M in Korea, he has been actively promoting oneM2M and helping recruit numerous South Korean companies to join and participate in the partnership project.

oneM2M’s Release 4 is set to be published in the fourth quarter of 2020 and will further build on the interworking capabilities outlined in Release 3 to support interworking between a range of sectors, including smart cities and Industry 4.0.
