Motorola Solutions announced the 2019 Motorola Solutions Education Video Contest winners. The contest invited K-12 public, private or charter schools or school districts based in the U.S. to submit videos honoring favorite school heroes, highlighting outstanding achievements or demonstrating their efforts to ensure positive learning environments.

Centennial Elementary School, in the Chicago suburb of Barlett, Illinois, was voted the grand prize winner and received $20,000 worth of radios and accessories from Motorola Solutions’ MOTOTRBO portfolio. The runner up, Florida State University Schools, in Tallahassee, Florida, was awarded $10,000 worth of technology from the portfolio. Motorola Solutions channel partners Illinois Communications and Mobile Communication of America donated time and resources for delivery and implementation of the technology.

“Submissions to our video contest demonstrated creativity and passion, and we are excited to recognize the very best with technology prizes that will help to keep students safe.” said John Zidar, corporate vice president, North America commercial, channel and carrier, Motorola Solutions. “Motorola Solutions is a long-time supporter of local communities, schools and the students who will become our next generation of innovators.”

“The doors of our school are often open to accommodate student drop-off and pickup, recess and physical education,” said Sarah N. Rabe, principal, Centennial Elementary School. “It is imperative that we monitor foot traffic and visitor access to identify situations that could become dangerous to our students. With Motorola Solutions’ radios, our administrators and safety personnel are always connected.”

The winning videos and submissions from across the country are available here.
