Canadian Agency Deploys 270 In-Car Video Systems

York Regional Police (YRP) in Canada purchased 270 Axon Fleet in-car video systems and 1,800 licenses to its digital evidence management solution. This order was received in the third quarter and will begin shipping in phased deployments in the fourth quarter.

All in-car cameras being deployed by the police have unlimited storage on Axon Evidence. Axon Evidence allows agencies to view, sort, tag, manage and securely share digital evidence with crown prosecutors and courts. The department is also deploying Axon Citizen for Communities, a public evidence submission portal that allows agencies to collect evidence from the public, and Redaction Assistant, Axon's artificial intelligence powered productivity tool built to increase efficiency for agencies.

"This technology provides a robust and secure platform for York Regional Police to better manage digital evidence and take the next steps in modernizing our police service," said York Regional Police Chief Eric Jolliffe.
