4 BroadWay Lead Firms Announce Additional Consortia Companies

The BroadWay Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) project team announced the additional companies involved in the pan-European public-safety mobile broadband system. BroadWay previously announced the selection of four consortia led by Airbus DS SLC, Frequentis, Leonardo and Rohill, which are working on the solution design phase to enable public-safety responders to be operationally mobile throughout Europe.

The four consortia are made up of 34 companies from 12 European countries. Together these countries include France, Finland, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Austria, Italy, Portugal, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Switzerland and Ireland. Each consortium includes large vendors, innovative subject matter experts (SMEs), independent and impartial test organizations, and mobile network and satellite operators.

Solution design is the first phase of the PCP and is expected to conclude in April 2020.

Airbus partners include StreamWide, Nokia, Retevision, Proximus, Belgacom International Carrier Services, TerUsus and PentaTech. The Frequentis BroadPort team includes Nemergent Solutions, Halys, Etelm, Arico Technologies and Euro Broadband Infrastructure.

The PPDR4Europe consortium led by Leonardo includes Vodafone Portugal, Ubiwhere, Proef Sgps, Telespazio, Athonet, Sas Telespazio France, Bittium Wireless, Radiolabs Consorzio Università Industria Laboratori Di Radiocomunicazione, Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna, Iscom and Lancaster University. The Rohill Technologies consortium includes Strict, T-Mobile Netherlands, PrioCom, ESI Mobile Solutions, Druid, Levi9 Global Sourcing Benelux, Strict Security and PentaTech.
