Anterix, EWA Enter into 900 MHz Transition Services Agreement

Anterix, formerly pdvWireless, and the Enterprise Wireless Alliance (EWA) executed an agreement enabling EWA to formally assist in the process of facilitating 900 MHz incumbent transition services on behalf of Anterix.

In this capacity, EWA will engage with 900 MHz incumbents to reconfigure authorized spectrum assignments to conform with the anticipated band reconfiguration by the FCC. The FCC is expected to make a decision on reconfiguring the 900 MHz band to enable broadband operations soon. That proceeding originated from a petition by Anterix and EWA.

EWA is an advocate for introducing advanced technologies in legacy LMR bands that benefit business enterprise licensees, the wireless communication service organizations and technology vendors that serve the land mobile industry. As such EWA, jointly with Anterix, originally proposed realigning the 900 MHz band to permit the deployment of broadband networks, technologies and solutions while retaining critical portions of the band for narrowband systems.

“We look forward to working with incumbent 900 MHz licensees in this process and encourage entities to contact us should they have any questions or concerns associated with their unique 900 MHz spectrum authorizations and reconfiguration alternatives,” said EWA president Mark Crosby.
