The Enterprise Wireless Alliance (EWA) contracted with John Wehmann to facilitate the administration of 900 MHz incumbent transition services. Wehmann brings more than 25 years of experience in the wireless and telecommunications industries, including more than 13 years with Sprint.

While at Sprint, Wehmann led a nationwide team in the negotiation of more than 1,500 agreements with 800 MHz licensees totaling in excess of $1 billion to effectuate the reconfiguration of the 800 MHz band in accordance with the 2004 FCC order.

“The 800 MHz rebanding involved technical challenges and a diverse group of players with competing priorities,” Wehmann said. “My success in finding solutions during that project will inform my work with EWA and the 900 MHz transition.”

Last month, EWA signed an agreement with Anterix to assist in 900 MHz incumbent transition by engaging with incumbents to reconfigure authorized spectrum assignments to conform with the anticipated band reconfiguration expected to be adopted by the FCC. Wehmann will manage this effort.

“John’s experience in the 800 MHz rebanding project at Sprint will be invaluable,” said Mark Crosby, EWA president. “He has the technical expertise and understands the issues and sensitivities surrounding such transitions.”
