GD App Available to MD1 Doctors for Emergency Situations

General Devices (GD) and MD1 partnered to provide mobile telemedicine and enhanced team communication throughout the MD1 program region. Physicians from the MD1 program will use the GD e-Bridge app on their mobile devices for live HIPAA-secure video and communications both pre-arrival and on the scene of critical emergencies that they respond to.

MD1 is a nonprofit corporation that focuses on bringing doctors to the site of emergency situations. By making use of the GD e-Bridge mobile app, MD1 program’s physicians can connect quickly and collaborate with other team physicians and ultimately area EMTs, paramedics and hospital emergency departments. MD1 operates a program that offers 24/7, on the go, and efficient medical service delivery, especially during the time of emergency.

“We are excited about the possibilities with this partnership,” said Dr. Mark Merlin, founder and CEO of MD1. “With GD e-Bridge, our physicians will now have technology literally on their side. We will be able to more easily dispatch to the scene, engage with medics and EMS ambulances via telemedicine before we arrive and collaborate to deliver even better care by bringing the emergency room to the patient instead of the other way around.”
