Simoco Wireless Solutions employee Connie Taylor was the first female to receive the Jonathan Livingstone Seagull (JLS) award from the Australian Radio Communications Industry Association (ARCIA).

The ARCIA represents members across the two-way radio, internet of things (IoT), cellular and broadband technology industries in Australia.

Taylor joined the business radio industry at a young age having worked at Motorola Australasia. Joining Vertel, she supported the Victorian sales and service operation, and continued in her role as the executive administrator for the Simoco Wireless Solutions business spanning 10 years.

“There is no doubt that Connie wholeheartedly deserves this prestigious award,” said Peter Scarlata, CEO Simoco Australasia. “Throughout her career she has dedicated herself to the PMR (professional mobile radio) industry and has been particularly active in pushing change for the industry’s benefit. She is a true inspiration to her peers and embodies everything this award is all about.”
