Rinaldo Steps Down as Acting Head of NTIA
Tuesday, December 17, 2019 | Comments

Diane Rinaldo, acting administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), is stepping down, according to press reports. Rinaldo’s resignation follows the abrupt resignation in May of David Redl, who previously held the position.

The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) is an independent authority of the Department of Commerce and works with NTIA.

Rinaldo previously served as deputy assistant secretary for communications and information since April 2018. The White House has not nominated a permanent replacement for Redl.
