Comments on New 9-1-1 Location Accuracy Due Feb. 18

Comments regarding the FCC’s fifth report and order and fifth further notice of proposed rulemaking adopting rules for transmitting Z-axis location information with indoor wireless 9-1-1 calls and seeking comment on narrowing the Z-axis location accuracy metric are due Feb. 18.

The rules were published in the Federal Register Jan. 16. The adopted rules become effective 60 days after publication in the Federal Register, except for those requirements subject to approval by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

Reply comments must be filed by March 16.
