pei tel Concludes Production Acquisition
Tuesday, February 18, 2020 | Comments

pei tel Communications relocated all production steps previously acquired from partner company peiker acustic, based in Friedrichsdorf, to the company’s headquarters in Teltow, near Berlin. A number of additional production and logistics jobs were created in recent years in preparation for the shift.

By bringing its activities together, pei tel is promising customers shorter delivery times, faster responses and the possibility of individual product adjustments, even for small unit quantities.

“Concluding the production acquisition marks a milestone for our company,” said Thomas Martin, CEO of pei tel. “After nearly 30 years, we now have not only sales but also the full range of production activities for audio equipment from the world-famous peiker brand entirely in our hands.”

Nearly 50 product groups, including handsets, hand microphones, and gooseneck microphones, have been transitioned, along with 400 individual items and 2,000 assemblies. The company also had to build a completely new supplier network, restructure its portfolio and integrate an additional 16 employees.

pei tel Communications was originally founded in 1991 to serve as a sales company for products from peiker acustic. In time, the company formed its own development department, responsible for items such as the PTCarPhone series. The range of handsets, microphones, speakers and various types of audio accessories for communication systems and equipment continued to increase, with peiker acustic remaining responsible for producing most items.

When the sale of peiker acustic to French automotive supplier Valeo was announced in December 2015, pei tel started assuming responsibility for production. The company now independently develops and produces a large number of communication solutions used worldwide.
