Edgybees was awarded its largest contract yet by AFWERX, an innovation program within the U.S. Air Force. The contract will see Edgybees’ computer vision technology, in the form of its augmented reality (AR) software, integrated with the U.S. Air Force’s systems to bolster situational awareness in complex operational scenarios.

Edgybees is one of 21 small businesses slated to receive four-year, fixed contracts with the combined worth of more than $550 million through AFVentures’ Strategic Financing (STRATFI) program, including more than $100 million in Air Force funding, more than $100 million in SBIR funds and more than $350 million in private investment.

The contract award follows a round of contracts awarded to Edgybees by AFWERX at the end of last year, including the Phase 2-SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) contract, a competitive awards-based program that enables small businesses to explore their technological potential within the defense sector and beyond.
