CalAmp announced the retirement of Michael Burdiek from his roles as president, CEO and a member of the board of directors. Current member of the board, Jeff Gardner, will become CalAmp's interim president and CEO, and Burdiek will remain a senior advisor to the CEO through May 31, 2021.

“After 14 years with CalAmp, it is time for me to transition into the next phase and retire from these leadership roles,” said Burdiek. “The company has accomplished much during my tenure, and I am very proud of our achievements and the exceptional leadership team we have built. Jeff has extensive experience as a public company CEO, and I have enjoyed working with him over the last five years while a member of CalAmp's board. I look forward to assisting Jeff in a seamless transition of the CEO responsibilities and the ongoing transformational journey of the company."

Gardner has served as a member of CalAmp's board since 2015. He most recently served as the president and CEO of Brinks Home Security from 2015 until February 2020. Gardner also served as president and CEO of Windstream, a provider of advanced network communications and technology solutions, including cloud computing and managed services. Before joining Windstream, Gardner worked for Alltel and 360 Communications, which merged with Alltel in 1998.
