3GPP Announces June Meetings Will be Virtual
Thursday, March 26, 2020 | Comments

The Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) leadership announced that the next plenary meetings (TSG #88), scheduled June 15 – 19, will be e-meetings. The leadership are considering proposing a three-month delay to the Release 17 timeline, which would put the Release 17 ASN.1 and OpenAPI specification freeze to December 2021.

The Release 17 package content agreed in December remains in place and unchanged. Face-to-face 3GPP working group meetings scheduled for April are canceled. The focus of the work during quarter two will be on Release 16 completion. The 3GPP WG meetings scheduled for May are currently to proceed as planned. The Release 16 ASN.1 and OpenAPI specification freeze is kept at June.
