FCC Proposes $685K Fine to Sound Around for Marketing Unauthorized Mics
Tuesday, April 14, 2020 | Comments

The FCC released a notice of apparent liability for forfeiture against Sound Around for apparently willfully and repeatedly violating the commission’s rules when it marketed 32 models of wireless microphones that were noncompliant or not authorized. The FCC proposed a forfeiture of $685,338.

The FCC said it previously issued a citation that notified Sound Around of its legal and regulatory equipment marketing obligations and ordered it to stop marketing noncompliant RF devices. Despite the citation, Sound Around continued its apparently unlawful practices.

The full notice is here.
