The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) released its annual report to Congress. The report discusses the nationwide public-safety broadband network’s buildout, the FirstNet road map, investment strategy and public-safety user examples.

The report outlines “notable successes” during fiscal year 2019. One of the successes was that FirstNet contractor AT&T launched the core and offered nationwide coverage through its “all-band” solution. Swift deployment of band 14, rural partnerships, strong subscribership, deployables and security were other noted successes. The report also outlined the public-safety ecosystem of devices and applications, along with a self-sustaining financial stability model.
The report says FirstNet worked to develop specifications for mission-critical services, along with LMR to LTE interworking.
