NPSTC Chair Ralph Haller and SBC Managing Director John Foley signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) June 1 to support the development of attributes of wireless technologies for public-safety communications inside of buildings.
"The members and staff of the Safer Buildings Coalition are excited to join together with NPSTC to collaborate on improving public-safety communications and interoperability," said Foley. "Now more than ever, public-safety agencies, and the public they protect, must have ubiquitous, reliable communications while inside buildings. We look forward to working side by side with NPSTC and their prestigious and influential federation of organizations to further that mission."
The Safer Buildings Coalition is a 501(c)4 not-for-profit focused on in-building technologies that protect the public. The three pillars of in-building public-safety communications include mobile 9-1-1 calls must get out with location accuracy, mobile mass notifications must get in and first responder communications must work.
