Erillisverkot Releases RFI for Virve 2.0 End-User Devices
Friday, September 18, 2020 | Comments

As part of the development work of the Virve authority network, Erillisverkot Group has published a request for information (RFI) on devices. The request identifies the types of devices that users want or expect to use and the type of devices that manufacturers intend to provide for future broadband service.

The published information request collects information on what kind of device can be used in different use cases. At the same time, the availability, development stage and performance of the equipment are also mapped.

In the Virve 2.0 development project, Finnish safety authorities and other critical users will switch to using 4G/5G broadband technology. The information request is used to compile responses to the second phase of the project, which defines, procures and deploys mission-critical communications services. Procurement is expected to begin in 2021.

Response are due October 16. Find the RFI here.
