Erillisverkot announced that it will present the first findings from its request for information (RFI) on devices for the Virve 2.0 network during the Critical Communications Week 2020 (CCWeek2020) virtual event.

“The deadline for responses was a couple of weeks ago, and we are currently reviewing them,” said Erillisverkot Development Manager Ari Toivonen. “To our delight, we have noticed that more and more of the available equipment support the higher priority mission-critical traffic classes. These are needed in order to provide a good service to the Virve 2.0 users over a shared radio network also during network congestion.”

Toivonen will present the first findings from the responses to the RFI during a virtual event at noon CET on 5 November.

Virve is a TETRA network for government agencies in Finland. The Virve 2.0 project will provide 4G/5G communications capabiltiies to those agencies.
