ATIS Committee Releases Updated Pandemic Checklist
Wednesday, February 10, 2021 | Comments

The Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) published an updated checklist of voluntary industry best practices as a reference in preparation for, response to and recovery from a pandemic event.

The Network Reliability Steering Committee (NRSC) Pandemic Checklist, ATIS-0100018(2021-02), updates the previous version, which was revised based on industry response to the 2014-2015 Ebola outbreak.

The updated Checklist incorporates additional best practices derived from industry response to the COVID-19 pandemic and supports the industry in its efforts to minimize the impact of a pandemic on the workforce and ensure network stability. These practices have been particularly vital in efforts to slow the virus' spread by enabling increased telework, telehealth and online learning initiatives. The pandemic checklist contains activities to help safeguard communications infrastructure addressing human and environmental factors as well as power, software, payload, hardware, networks and policy considerations. It was developed by ATIS' NRSC.
