The Safer Buildings Coalition (SBC) announced the full membership for its No Noise Task Force Steering Committee.

In December, the SBC launched its No Noise campaign to focus on the problem of harmful interference caused by improperly deployed signal boosters.

Members of the steering committee are:
• Chief Alan Perdue, SBC executive director;
• Chief Michael O’Brien, director, fire and life safety section for the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and chief of the Brighton (Michigan) Area Fire Authority;
• Andy Seybold, public-safety thought leader and consultant;
• Michelle Geddes, chief information officer (CIO) for the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management;
• Michael Baltrotsky, assistant chief, technology section chief at Montgomery County (Maryland) Fire and Rescue Service;
• Don Root, National Public Safety Telecommunications Council (NPSTC) Spectrum Management Committee chair;
• Mark Crosby, president and CEO of the Enterprise Wireless Alliance (EWA);
• Tom Presnak, Underwriters Laboratory (UL);
• Kenny Blakeslee, president and CEO, Pulse Signal Solutions/Apex Site Solutions; and
• John Foley, SBC managing director.
In addition to announcing the full leadership, the SBC said that the FCC has designated representatives from its Enforcement Bureau (EB), Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB), Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) and Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (WTB) to act as resources to the task force.

“The FCC’s offer of support is a strong validation of the importance of eliminating harmful noise and interference that is creating challenges for public-safety radio systems, first responders and license holders from around the country,” the SBC said. “This is very welcome support.”
