The Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) division of the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) announced a new funding opportunity focused on artificial intelligence (AI) for the internet of things.

The PSCR is seeking applications from prize administrators for the NIST PSCR Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program (PSIAP) — Artificial Intelligence for IoT Information (AI3) Prize Competition. The competition aims to use AI learning techniques to make disparate situational awareness data sources actionable for first responders.

PSCR expects that funding for the competition will be up to $1.2 million with a project performance of up to two years.
