More Than 30 Vendors Attend BroadGNSS Open Market Consultation Launch

On 2 June, the BroadGNSS project successfully hit the first milestone of its open market consultation (OMC) phase with a successful webinar with interested suppliers.

More than 30 supplier organizations from 12 countries joined the webinar to learn more about the BroadGNSS challenge and the pre-commercial procurement (PCP) process and have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss with the project team. The companies who participated were invited to fill out the BroadGNSS OMC questionnaire. The deadline for filling that out is the end of June. On 26 October, the project will hold a partnering event, in Paris or online depending on the situation, to assist companies in search for a consortium.

The project has an expected total budget of 2.5 million Euros for research and development activities for the three phases of the PCP, which are design, prototype, and initial development and testing.

BroadGNSS is a PCP action funded by the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) under Horizon 2020. The project is intended to procure technology to help improve the services that public-safety and disaster relief organizations provide to European citizens. The project runs from December 2020 to March 2024 with the goal of developing deployable applications for synchronization and monitoring of critical mobile broadband communication infrastructure and information assets for public protection and disaster relief (PPDR) based on EGNOS and Galileo.
