The Enterprise Wireless Alliance (EWA) announced the programming for the 2021 Wireless Leadership Summit that will be held at the Marriott Austin Downtown, in Austin, Texas, November 2-3.

The Wireless Leadership Summit provides business leaders with actionable management and technology ideas, and the opportunity to discuss industry trends and how they may be harnessed for ongoing success.

The keynote, titled “Wireless Security: The Possible, the Impossible, and What Lies Between,” will be given by Dr. Todd Humphreys of the University of Texas, Austin. Humphreys directs UT Austin’s Radionavigation Laboratory and is an associate professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. He is considered a leading expert on GPS technology and the security concerns that arise from its use.

Humphreys and researchers from the laboratory are known for taking control of a flying drone by hacking into its GPS system to demonstrate how U.S. drones were being controlled by Iraq during the Gulf War, winning a challenge issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The 2021 Wireless Leadership Summit features critical technology updates in key areas that impact the private LMR industry including cybersecurity, private wireless policy, broadband opportunities, in-building wireless deployments and workforce development.
