WInnForum Releases Recommendations on Missing Incumbent Data for 6 GHz AFCs

The Wireless Innovation Forum (WInnForum) announced the availability of a recommendation by its 6 GHz Committee addressing the handling of missing data for incumbent systems in 6 GHz automated frequency coordination (AFC) Systems.

The document, WINNF-RC-1010, is a companion document to WINNF-TR-1008, which is a summary of how to access and use the data in the FCC's Universal Licensing System (ULS).

Approved and released by the WInnForum membership, WINNF-RC-1010 provides recommendations to licensees and the FCC on blank, uncollected, erroneous or conflicting incumbent ULS data. The discussion in the document is within the context of the U.S. 6 GHz Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure (U-NII) rules governing AFC systems and unlicensed devices and the FCC report and order in which the rules were adopted. It also provides recommendations to incumbents and the FCC on specific actions that could be taken.

The WInnForum 6 GHz Committee is also developing requirements for the 6 GHz AFC system that will address how to handle blank, uncollected, erroneous or conflicting data in the "Operational and Functional Requirements for the U.S. 6 GHz Band" (WINNF-TS-1014) technical specification.
