The Radio Club of America (RCA) and the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) awarded Young Professional Awards to four individuals during the IWCE Conference and Expo Sept. 30.

The awards went to Margaret Carothers Lynch, Susan Kea, Austin Schaller and JoAnna Wang.

Carothers has been the CEO of Royal Communications International since 2013 and is the majority owner of the woman-owned small business, which supplies communications equipment. She specializes in HF communications systems.

Kea is the distributed antenna system (DAS) sales director west at JMA Wireless. She’s enthusiastic about the technology, attentive to customers and others in business, and goes out of her way to welcome new professionals in the industry.

Austin Schaller is an RF engineer at Ball Aerospace. Schaller’s experience includes broadband passive and active RF electronics design, embedded FPGA and microcontroller design and software development.

JoAnna Wang is the director of government and community affairs at Modus. A licensed attorney and telecommunications professional, JoAnna is a professional who understands that at the end of the day, it’s critical for people and residents of a community to feel comfortable with the build projects wireless carriers do to extend their networks.
