Aviat Networks Begins CFO Transition, Names Gray to the Position

Aviat Networks announced that David M. Gray will join its management team as senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) effective October 18. To ensure a smooth transition, Gray will work closely with departing CFO Eric Chang, who will remain with the company in an advisory capacity for a period of time.

"On behalf of the board of directors and the entire Aviat team, I thank Eric for his dedication to the company over the past five years," said Aviat CEO Pete Smith. "Eric has been instrumental to our success and problem solving."

Before joining Aviat, Gray was CFO and treasurer of Superior Essex, a $2.6 billion global manufacturer and distributor of communications and electrical equipment. Prior to Superior Essex, Gray served as vice president, finance at Cooper Industries, where he was CFO of a $800-million revenue business focused on electrical, electronic and power management solutions.

Gray has also held a variety of executive finance and accounting positions at Newell Brands, Philips Electronics and Autoliv. Gray holds a bachelor’s of science (BS) in accounting from Penn State University, and is a certified public accountant (CPA) and certified management accountant (CMA).
