Simi Valley, California, awarded Federal Engineering (FE) a contract to assist with the upgrade of the city’s public-safety mobile radio system including the development of specifications and support of the system procurement.

“Federal Engineering will serve as the City’s trusted advisor and expert in helping Simi Valley with the migration from their aging land mobile radio system to a new system that meets the City’s technical and operational needs,” said FE Director Rajit Jhaver. “In addition to technical support, FE will assist the city with a competitive procurement of a system to meet the city’s needs.”

As part of the project, FE will review the existing system documentation, conduct user interviews and focus groups, perform site surveys and existing system evaluation, model existing radio coverage, conduct an FETeamCoverage workshop, deliver needs assessment and recommendations report, develop technical specifications, support the procurement process, and assist with proposal evaluations.

“By applying our proven methodologies, we are confident we will deliver a solution that meets the city’s needs and is both practical and affordable,” Jhaver said.
