The Radio Club of America (RCA) is launching a new program to facilitate connections between women in the wireless industry. Women in Wireless in the 21st Century commences on March 17 at 7 p.m. ET, and will be moderated by Ellen O’Hara, retired president/CEO of Zetron.

Hosted on Zoom, these sessions are open to all women in the wireless industry and wireless-adjacent industries. Topics covered will include career and networking advice and staying current in an everchanging industry.

“The opportunity to network, learn from others and find mentors is an essential part of every successful career. I am pleased to host a forum to help women in the wireless industry maximize these key, career-boosting activities,” O’Hara said.

O’Hara brings a wealth of experience to her role as moderator of this series. A C-suite executive, she has firsthand experience gleaned from her roles at Motorola, EF Johnson, and Ericsson/GE. O’Hara holds an bachelor of arts with a high distinction from Harvard University and was the recipient of the 2021 RCA Vivian Carr Award.

“In keeping with RCA’s tradition of encouraging women in the wireless industry, we have planned this new forum for women to provide assistance as they advance in the industry,” said RCA President John Facella.

The Radio Club of America was founded in 1909 by the efforts of E. Lilian Todd, a pioneer female aviator and aircraft designer. RCA has a long history of women in senior roles, with three women presidents, many female committee members, and numerous female board members and executive board members. RCA’s own Carole Perry works with youth in public school to promote wireless careers and has had many female Young Achievers present at the RCA’s prestigious annual Technical Symposium. In 2018, the Vivian Carr award was initiated. This award, named for former RCA President Vivian Carr, an employee of Bell Laboratories, recognizes women who have made outstanding contributions to the wireless industry.

Pre-registration is required for this free event. For more information and to register please visit www.radioclubofamerica.org.
