Evelyn L. Remaley joined Wilkinson Barker Knauer (WBK) as a partner in the Washington, DC, office.

“I am thrilled to join WBK and its many talented attorneys and staff who are well-known across the communications legal field for excellence, leadership and integrity,” said Remaley. “WBK's commitment to clients and its people makes it a standout amongst firms tackling the toughest communications challenges of the day. I am gratified to bring my experience to a firm with such deep roots in the communications law arena. The opportunities and threats that clients face today across the communications landscape have never been greater, nor more complex. I look forward to helping clients navigate this rich and dynamic landscape where connectivity is essential and innovation and security are changing the world across multiple dimensions.”

Remaley worked in many roles at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) in a variety of roles and spearheaded efforts on broadband funding, cybersecurity and spectrum management. Most recently, she served as acting assistant secretary of commerce for communications and information and acting NTIA administrator.

Prior to that role, Remaley served as the associate administrator for NTIA's Office of Policy Analysis and Development, where she led a team of experts providing senior policy support to the secretary of Commerce and the White House on issues impacting the Internet and digital economy. Before joining the government, Remaley led a cybersecurity and internet policy team in the private sector, where she provided subject matter expertise supporting a wide range of cyber policy and governance projects for the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security. She also worked for an internet service provider in its internet privacy and security Federal Practice and spent time deploying the Internet across communities through her work with public libraries.

Remaley holds a bachelor’s of science (BS) degree from Carnegie Mellon University and received her jurisdoctorate from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.

"We are incredibly proud to welcome Evelyn to the Firm,” said WBK Managing Partner Bryan Tramont. “Evelyn’s expertise will enhance our already strong practices in broadband, cybersecurity and spectrum policy, and her leadership skills and character will be tremendous assets to our clients and our lawyers. In an era where change is an opportunity to redefine the possible, we are thrilled to have Evelyn here to help us navigate the evolving regulatory and technological landscape. She has devoted her entire professional career to closing the digital divide and bringing secure, robust broadband service to all Americans. We are so fortunate she will bring this same enthusiasm and commitment to the firm.”
