FCC Announces Compliance Dates with New 911 Fee Diversion Information Collection Rules
Wednesday, June 29, 2022 | Comments

The FCC announced that as of June 22, states and other jurisdictions must comply with new 911 fee information collection requirements.

The requirements were included in the Don’t Break Up the T-Band Act of 2020, which directed the FCC to implement new rules to prevent 911 fee diversion. In July 2021, the FCC then released a report and order with new rules, including new collection requirements.

Those requirements required Office of Management and Budget (OMB) under the Paperwork Reduction Act. The OMB approved the new collection requirements in March. Following publication of that approval in the Federal Register, the rules are now in effect.
