The Next-Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) Interoperability Oversight Commission (NIOC) announced the PSAP Credentialing Agency (PCA) is ready for production status and is ready to accept integrations in state and local emergency service IP networks (ESInets).

A complete financial model, which details costs and fees of the PCA program, is available for review. Find that model here.

“Speaking on behalf of the NIOC Commissioners, as well as the many people who helped get to this point in next generation (NG9-1-1) history, this is a tremendous milestone for NG9-1-1,” said NIOC Chair Rick Blackwell. “NG 9-1-1 standards have demanded that this NG 9-1-1-specific security initiative be implemented for many years and, finally, NG 9-1-1-specific security between agencies and ESInets is here. It is an honor for all involved in the PCA’s development to see this important landmark come to fruition.”

The PCA is the root of trust and security in NG 9-1-1’s public key infrastructure (PKI) and has been included in NG 9-1-1 specifications from day one. It is a critical component of the secure trust infrastructure designed by standards development organizations in order to create 9-1-1-specific interoperability.
