L3Harris announced its Two47 base station, which is the first product in the company’s new Two47 line. The P25 base station is software-defined, allowing the company to fit all the needed base station functions into a one-rack unit (1 RU). This eliminates the need for external equipment, freeing up space within communications shelters. The software-defined nature of the product also makes it easy for users to upgrade it and expand it to fit their needs.
Verizon Frontline demonstrated THOR’s Hammer, a complementary to its Tactical Humanitarian Operations Response (THOR) deployable. Developed with dual-core network capabilities, which enable enhanced operational flexibility, the nearly 30-foot trailer is able to act as either a private 5G standalone (or non-standalone) network that can be managed locally from within the trailer. THOR’s Hammer is built to leverage the network and technology of Verizon Frontline, including Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband (UW), along with additional applications and advanced computing solutions such as network slicing capabilities.
Motorola Solutions announced three radios that extend the versatility of its APX line. The single band APX N70, APX N50 and APX N30 feature the same reliable mission-critical connectivity found in the company’s APX NEXT radio, but offer smaller screens, slimmer profiles, simplified user interfaces and a more targeted set of data applications. The new radios give public-safety agencies greater choice as they equip both first responders, as well as those in emergency support, public works and municipal roles.
