The revision ensures the standard continues to provide emergency communication centers (ECC) managers, directors and other leadership with a better understanding of the wireless 9-1-1 technology application and the ability to better manage wireless calls as well as responder expectations.
“Wireless calls far surpass landline calls in today’s world and the challenges related to location accuracy continue as we move forward,” said APCO International President Angela Batey. “This revision ensures the leaders and frontline personnel within an ECC have access to the most current information related to wireless 9-1-1 and identifies effective practices.”
The public may review and comment on the candidate standard through October 17, 2022. Access the standard here.
