The Safer Buildings Coalition (SBC) announced the results of its 2022 board of directors election.

David Adams, director at PCTEL, was elected vice president of the board. He will take over SBC’s presidency in September 2023. Scott Umemoto, director of strategic technologies at Day Wireless was elected as an at-large member of the board and will serve a term through September 2023. Josh Gerst, vice president of engineering at RF connect, was also elected as an at-large member of the board and will serve through September 2024.
"I’ve been proud to serve the Safer Buildings Coalition as the chair of the codes and standards workgroup since its inception in 2017, working with a broad range of member organizations to help affect positive change in the national code bodies, for the benefit of the public, our industry and the men and women who are in the front lines providing public safety response,” said Gerst. “Thanks all. Very much looking forward to working with this excellent team to further the SBC mission."
Prince Niyyar of Commdex moves into the president position and will serve through September 2023. Dennis Burns of ADRF will transition to immediate past president.
