The requirements of the mobile communications industry are continuing to evolve as smart technologies are adopted throughout many industries and verticals. In this newly created role, Rodriguez will be closely involved in helping to develop existing and new services for GCF members both in its traditional and emerging sectors.
He is a telecom engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the sector, mostly with Telefonica. He has worked in technical and management roles related to the market introduction of mobile and internet of things (IoT) devices, technologies and services, in both network operator and global business units.
During his time with Telefonica, Rodriguez also served as a member of the GCF board of directors. As a result, he has a detailed understanding of the operations of GCF and joins with a clear vision of how the organization can continue to develop to serve the existing and emerging needs of the mobile communications sector. He has also completed an executive management program at IESE Business School.
