According to Brian Fontes, CEO of NENA: The 9-1-1 Association, NENA applauds the Federal Communication Commission's (FCC) recent rulemaking improving requirements for service providers to provide timely notifications to 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) during network outages. NENA looks forward to working with the FCC, the public safety community, and the telecommunications industry to help implement these rules in a manner usable by PSAPs and ensure that the rules can effectively meet their goals.
