Laird Technologies said it will open a manufacturing facility in Chennai, India, further strengthening its proximity and support capabilities to key customers. The new facility, expected to open in mid-2007, will be about 150,000 square feet, with ground breaking planned for January. The facility will initially accommodate antenna production followed by EMI products for handset applications. In the future, Laird Technologies plans to expand the facility to include design engineering, research and development, tooling, and manufacturing of all the company's products used to support customers in India.
