FWT, a manufacturer of custom steel structures for the utility and telecommunications industry, expanded into Ohio through the purchase of a plant in the village of Hicksville in late December. The new facility has more than 320,000 square feet on about 94 acres.

It is expected that more than 200 jobs will be added to support the facility. This expansion supports FWT’s strategic initiatives to serve the increasing demands and needs of customers in the utility and telecommunications industries.

“This expansion marks a milestone in the company’s history and allows the company to support our customers with an improved geographic presence with a full operational plant facility,” said Fred Moore, CEO. “We are committed to meeting our customer product needs.”

FWT expects to start production in the spring and is working with the state of Ohio and local governments to plan necessary staffing, training and skill set development.
