The digital Professional Mobile Radio (dPMR) Association held an interoperability testing session on 24 October in Wuxi, China, as part of the association’s regular meetings. Six companies successfully completed the tests.

The tests confirmed that all products met European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) standards TS 102 490 Modes 1 and 2. Derek Love, head of the technical working group of the dPMR Association, conducted the tests.

“We are delighted to be able to launch dPMR into the general marketplace,” said dPMR Association Chairman Pete Hizzey. “With eight manufacturers already achieving interoperability, we can say with absolute certainty that dPMR is a full multivendor digital technology, which gives PMR users the reassurance of performance and value so that they can buy with complete confidence.”

The six new companies that joined Icom as certified manufacturers are:

• Tianjin 712 Communication & Broadcasting

• Quanzhou Feijie Electronics

• Xiamen Puxing Electronics Science & Technology

• Fujian Nanan Quansheng Electronics

• Quanzhou Xinwei Electronics

• Fujian Wanhua Electronic Technology
