Sepura to Supply 500 Radios to German Chemical Business Operator (1/15/13)

Sepura will supply more than 500 TETRA digital portable radios to Currenta, an operator of specialist chemical business parks in Germany.

The contract, secured by Sepura’s German partner, Selectric Nachrichten-Systeme, covers around 500 terminals, of which about 150 will be the intrinsically safe radios.

Currenta operates specialist chemical industry business parks across Germany and places particular emphasis on both safety and security at its sites. After deciding to adopt TETRA technology, the company selected Sepura radios for communications at its Krefeld-Uerdingen, Leverkusen and Dormagen locations.

“Currenta also needs, on occasions, to be able to communicate with public-safety authorities, so using TETRA radios also makes this easily achievable,” said Kasper Barfoed, Sepura’s Regional Director for Northern Europe.
