Commercial Electronics implemented HigherGround’s voice logging solution at the Bonneville County (Idaho) emergency communications center.

As an authorized HigherGround Reseller, Commercial Electronics rolled out the logging platform to interface with a MicroData IP call-handling solution and Avtec radio console. This solution allows the county to record and report on all interactions going through its IP phone system and Project 25 (P25) console.

“Capturing and recording all phone and radio communications via an IP interface will allow Bonneville County to be ready as new next-generation 9-1-1 (NG 9-1-1) i3 standards are announced, putting it on the cutting edge of public-safety answering points (PSAPs) in the country,” said HigherGround CEO Terry Ryan.

Bonneville County emergency communications center services a population of about 80,000, including Idaho Falls, Ammon, Iona, Swan Valley, Ucon, Irwin and portions of Ririe. The system is now recording 10 consoles as well as 42 radio talk groups. The communications center handles more than 100,000 emergency and non-emergency calls in a year.
